The Atlanta Homeward Choir will host the third annual National Conference!
In January of 2018, a group of directors of street choirs and other music based community service organizations gathered in Dallas, Texas to learn about one another's work. There was a spirit of togetherness throughout the discussions and events, which were hosted by the Dallas Street Choir. We realized that sharing our successes and struggles with people who are working in similar areas is vital! Sometimes we become so focused on our work, our choir, our city... that we forget to see the bigger picture. There are countless amazing projects and organizations working to make their communities stronger, more equitable and more musical!
The National Alliance for Music in Vulnerable Communities was created in January 2019 at the Second Annual Conference in Los Angeles. The mission is to support music organizations working in vulnerable communities through networking, education and advocacy. The first order of business was choosing a location and date for the Third Annual Conference in 2020.
We are so excited to share the work of the organizations in this alliance so stay tuned as we build our website and update the blog! You can also find us on Facebook.

That seems so bland since we are constantly offering flyers with services. Do I need to find a music director first who would…
